Dr. Taryn Chambers Givan is a native of Texarkana, Texas and credits a loving and nurturing family for instilling “old school values”. Even though she was raised in a single-parent home, she is thankful that her mother, Judy Chambers, and grandparents, the late Arthur and Velma Chambers, along with her extended family were present to provide a loving and supportive environment.
Her charge in life is to share with others about God’s goodness, help mold the lives of educators and children, and encourage women to remain true to themselves. In 2016, Taryn created the Each One, Reach One Educational Scholarship in the amount of $500 that is given to a Liberty-Eylau High School Senior currently raised by a single parent or guardian and registered to attend an accredited college or vocational school. She has co-authored Sparkle, Promise: A Global Women's Devotional, and I'm Speaking all through Sparkle Publishing.
Taryn aspires to one day be the author of a best-selling novel and teach on the collegiate level to train future educators. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, dancing, traveling, and shopping. One of her greatest accomplishments is being a mother to her beautiful daughter, Endyia Wells. She is the blessed wife of Antonio Givan and bonus mom to Breylon Jordan and Ashton Givan. Her motivation each day stems from Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
